I know, this is really lazy of me...

Okay, I need help.
1.  Cindy or Jennifer:  To your knowledge, are there any umbrellas being stored in Iceland?
2.  Any Icelandic readers:  Do they make special Icelandic umbrellas? Any suggestions if I end up having to buy one?  Any special, sturdy brands that will hold up under Icelandic winds?

I guess this is a good test to see if anyone still is reading this blog...

May I recommend the following umbrellas, Iceland Umbrella, Spiderman Umbrella, and, my favorite, the Power Ranger Umbrella. All of these will do fine in Iceland.

Hmmm I'm afraid that you'll have to learn how NOT to use umbrella's.

I think my family has like... 3 or 4 umbrellas and we never use them.

Thing is... the winds are too strong for umbrella's. If it happens to rain during the summer, which sucks but does happen, then you can use any umbrella cause there's usually not much wind.

During winter however... It's a lost cause :s

So I'd recommend a GREAT jacket that's water repellent and has a hood. That's what I use...

I agree with the whole, no umbrella idea.. The first thought that came to me was get really good rain jackets. I have a pak tech rain jacket and I love it... Granted it is not Iceland cold proof, hold off water wonderfully yet still breathable. Whatever you get make sure it is breathable or you will sweat horribly.... Try REI.com or craigslist...

Hey Annie! I totally agree with forgetting the whole umbrella idea. You would probably blow away. You had asked me about a blow dryer, I had brought mine with me and then there was one that came with our penthouse apartment. I don't think there is one in storage unless a group after us bought one. Hope this helps!

I think I have to agree with Dagný...Iceland is not umbrella friendly.
