She's beautiful! Those tubes and lines will gradually disappear as she recovers. I don't know what the protocol is after heart surgery, but if Gracie is allowed to lie on her side, you can request that the nurses change her position more frequently between each side and her back to help reduce some swelling, pressure points, and just make her more comfortable. They can stabilize her position with blanket rolls. Like in this picture( about halfway down the page): http://www.cuh.org.uk/rosie/services/neonatal/nicu/developmental_care/support_comforting_baby.html And it's still possible with lots of tubes, because I've done it! Anyways, so glad to hear surgery went well, and we will continue to pray for her recovery!
Sorry that link didn't publish right. Will it work now? http://www.cuh.org.uk/rosie/services/neonatal/nicu/developmental_care/support_comforting_baby.html
What a sweet baby girl. You are over the hurdle! I love her already. I love you guys too. It is all going to be ok. If we could all be as strong as little Gracie. Kids have a way of being fearless and trusting that we gradually loose as we age. Oh, sweet girl. I long to trust that way.
